Bella’s Meat Cookies with Frosting

These "meat cookies" are a playful and delicious way to increase your fat intake while enjoying the savory satisfaction of perfectly seared beef. By topping cooled, burger-style discs with a thick "frosting" of room-temperature butter, you create a rich, creamy contrast that melts into the meat with every bite. It is a fantastic option for those following a high-fat carnivore protocol who want a meal that feels like a treat while providing sustained energy and satiety.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 block 8 ounces unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • Salt and seasonings to taste (optional)

Instructions

  • Shape the ground beef into small, round "cookies" by rolling them into balls and flattening them into discs of your desired thickness. Season with salt or spices if preferred.
  • Place a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat and allow it to preheat for about 2 minutes. When you place the meat into the pan, it should produce a distinct sizzle.
  • Place the meat discs in the pan, using a grease splatter guard or a lid to keep the stovetop clean. Cook for 3 minutes on the first side.
  • Flip the meat cookies and cook for another 3 minutes on the second side. This timing will result in a medium doneness with a nice exterior sear. If you prefer them more well-done, add 1 to 2 minutes to the total cooking time.
  • Remove the meat from the pan and transfer to a plate. It is essential to allow the meat to cool significantly before applying the "frosting" so the butter stays thick and spreadable rather than melting immediately.
  • Once cooled, use a knife or small spatula to spread the softened butter generously over the top of each meat cookie. Enjoy immediately. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, though the butter will harden; you can let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before eating to soften the frosting again.
