Bella’s Baked Burger Patties
Baking burger patties is an excellent technique for meal prepping or cooking for a group, as it ensures a perfectly even cook without the need to monitor a stovetop pan. This method allows the beef to retain its natural juices while the dry heat of the oven creates a tender, consistent texture throughout. Finishing the hot patties with a sprinkle of cheese and a dollop of sour cream adds a rich, velvety finish that makes this simple meal feel incredibly indulgent.
Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Cook Time 20 minutes mins
- 2 ground beef burger patties
- 1/4 cup shredded cheese of choice
- Ghee for topping (optional)
- Sour cream for serving (optional)
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Place the ground beef burger patties on the prepared baking sheet leaving at least 2 inches of space between them to allow for even heat circulation.
- Place the sheet in the center rack of the oven and bake for 20 minutes. The patties should be fully cooked through and have reached an internal temperature of at least 160°F.
- Remove the baking sheet from the oven. While the patties are still piping hot sprinkle the shredded cheese over the top of each burger, allowing the residual heat to melt the cheese until it is bubbly.
- Transfer the patties to a plate and top with a small pat of ghee if desired. Serve warm with a side of sour cream for dipping.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 5 to 8 minutes to maintain the juicy consistency of the beef.
